RIP - Heath Ledger
Wednesday, January 23, 2008

"The actor Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday afternoon in an apartment in Manhattan, according to the New York City police. Some signs pointed to an accidental overdose or a suicide, although no note was found, police sources said. Mr. Ledger was 28.

At 3:31 p.m., according to the police, a masseuse arrived at the fourth-floor apartment of the building, at 421 Broome Street, between Crosby and Lafayette Streets in SoHo, for an appointment with Mr. Ledger. The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of the bedroom Mr. Ledger was in. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Mr. Ledger naked and unconscious on a bed, with sleeping pills — both prescription medication and nonprescription — on a night table. They attempted to revive him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities. As the news reports spread quickly, throngs of people gathered in the neighborhood.

The police said they did not suspect a crime. Ellen Borakove, a spokeswoman for the office of the city’s chief medical examiner, Dr. Charles S. Hirsch, said that employees of the office were at the apartment and that an autopsy would be conducted on Wednesday. Around 6:30 p.m., city workers rolled Mr. Ledger’s body, in a black body bag on a stretcher, out of the building.

Heathcliff Andrew Ledger was born on April 4, 1979, to Sally Ledger, a French teacher, and Kim Ledger, an engineer. Named for a character in Emily Brontë’s “Wuthering Heights,” he and his older sister, Katherine, grew up in Perth, Australia; his parents were divorced when he was about 10. As a student, he joined a local theater company and appeared in a production of “Peter Pan,” which led to his being cast in children’s television programs.

Mr. Ledger’s first Hollywood film was the teenage romantic comedy “10 Things I Hate About You” (1999). He later appeared in romantic-hero roles in films like “A Knight’s Tale” (2001) and “Casanova” (2005). But the role for which Mr. Ledger was probably best known by American audiences was in “Brokeback Mountain” (2005). The film, based on a short story by Annie Proulx about two cowboys who fall in love, won critical acclaim. Reviewing the film in The New York Times, the critic Stephen Holden wrote, “Mr. Ledger magically and mysteriously disappears beneath the skin of his lean, sinewy character. It is a great screen performance, as good as the best of Marlon Brando and Sean Penn.” Mr. Ledger was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor in January 2006. (His death came on the same day that the 2007 Oscar nominations were announced.) Mr. Ledger had been cast as the Joker in the latest Batman installment, “The Dark Knight,” set to be released this summer.

Mr. Ledger met the actress Michelle Williams while filming ‘’Brokeback Mountain.” They became romantically involved and moved to Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, where their comings and goings were widely noted by the celebrity press. They had a daughter, Matilda Rose, who was born on Oct. 28, 2005. The couple separated last year."

I was shocked when I heard about the news this morning. In my personal opinion, Brokeback Mountain was one of the most beautiful film I've ever saw, displaying how strong the love was between the cowboys. And the amazing soundtracks of the movie makes its just a heart-wrenching film. The heartbreak of a forbbiden love...

Being such a controversial moive, Ang Lee has succesfully made this into such a beautiful love story. The film is unique in a way that it progress slowly. And unknowingly, you realised you've been a fool in your lovelife when I look at both of them. The ending - "In opening the door the two shirts are again seen one inside the other with Ennis's shirt over Jack's, on a hanger hanging on a nail pounded into the closet door with the postcard of Brokeback Mountain alongside. Ennis carefully fastens the top button of Jack's shirt, and with tears in his eyes mutters, "Jack, I swear....", while slowly straightening the postcard."

Definitely one of the best film I've ever saw, and it's really a pity for Heath to have left us just like that, Hollywood have lost an amazing actor. Was really looking forward to his The Joker - Batman Returns movie. It's so sad that his 2 year old daughter Matilda Rose have lost his father. Have always seen pictures of him as a loving father together with her daughter.

Well, rest in peace Heath. Will miss you always...

Jay Chou SG concert 2008
Sunday, January 20, 2008

I dont need to say anything do i. All that i've been looking forward to ended on Friday night. Still prefer his last few concerts where i love all of his concert song. I personally find that there were too many intervals during the concert. Like he sang 2/3 songs, went off to backstage to change/eat his dinner/or whatever and random dancers came out. I thought that kinda dampen the mood and we're brought to high and down low when that happens. But still, he's Jay Chou. So i'll still love him! Concert Pics :

The NEW year
Tuesday, January 01, 2008

Everyone seems to be making their list of resolutions for the new year 2008. Mine is really simple. Since love life have been a total flopped and disappointment, i figure i'll spend more time on my studies and most importantly, to make MORE MONEY. It's Vitamin M. Face it darlings, money makes the world go round. Since love aint gonna be there for me, i'm putting my lifestake on money. Everything works when you have the cold hard cash... Sad but true.

Reflections of 2007. Life been really good in the workforce. Great experience, valuable lessons, met lots of different types of people. Both evil and nice... It actually very fun at work where you have to watch ur backs for knifes and play this little game call "Politics." How interesting. And i thought work was only about minding my own business and working my ass off for the benefit of the Company. Friends and families have ALWAYS been there, love every single one of 'em. Lastly, to all the jerks - dont pretend that you'll be there if you're not ready to catch us fall. You bunch of assholes morons, this last one is for you...

Ohwell, it back to work tmr. Cant imgaine the emails i've got to clear.

Be back to update you guys for any happenings at work!
